Local

A short trip to huntstrete for a few hours today, only had pellets so an island swim would be preferred, got to the fishery and it was busy, the only sensible swim with an island i could see was peg 21, a short walk just around to the left hand side of the first island, set up two rigs, one to fish in about 6foot of water just off the isalnd, and a rig for close to the island in 18 inches of water, both with size 18 b960 hook on .16 for banded 6mm hard pellet over loose fed 4,s. I started in the deep water.and soon had some bites from the f1,s, i had about 8 or 9 from there before it went quiet, so i then went over to the island in the shallow water and caught more f1,s , ice fishing but not being a match its hard to keep motivated, but the fish were of a decent size with some going well over 2lb, nice fish.
Other than the f1,s i had one decent skimmer and a nice hybrid of about a pound and a half, and a male toad, which managed.to drag the float under in 6foot of water.
Nice to see plenty of the huntstrete regulars fishing today, so plenty of people to talk to, the first Thursday coffin dodgers starts a week Thursday, and it sounds as though its going to be popular, glad i got to work 😂. my first proper match will be next monday on the main lale at shiplate, then acorn on tuesday, looking forward to those two days, other than that i got a peg booked for this friday at shiplate for a sneaky practice.
