We are back for now
Nice to be back with the competitions, lets just hope all these protesting oxygen thieves dont screw it up for us.
shiplate was my first port of call to a john dursley run match, all nicely done with social distancing being applied, john did the draw and nice to see his drawing arm hasnt deserted him as he pulled out 14b for me, a nice draw
, on my right i had the jolly large john andres and on my left was the diminutive paul faiers, definitely opposite ends of the clothes shopping rails.
My swim has both carp and silvers form, so rigs today were a rig for 5mtrs for meat, one at 11 mtrs for silvers, a pellet rig for 14mtrs and lastly a lead rod (😁)for pellet at 30mtrs ish.
To make this a bit shorter i never had ome bite on the pellet line, whichncame as a great suprise as i had caught reasonably well a on few days before, also i never had a touch on the meat line , again very surprising as paul to my left went on the win the match fishing short with meat, bit then again every thing he tends to do is done short.apart from a short period on the lead where to be fair i did have three carp, all my fish came from the 11 mtr line, where i had 5 more carp and over 30lb ov skimmers aswell, ending up with 112lb which was good enough for third and my silvers got me second in that pool, a nice days fishing , as i said paul won with 125lb , and organiser john won the silvers with over 40lb from peg 6, so well done to them.weogh sheet below.
that was monday, Tuesday and i was off to acorn tor the costcutter match, well supported with 27 fishing, still social distancing draw, which was carriwd out by mike chapman, ping pong ball 33 came out for me, which is a bridge peg, a nice draw with options, silvers as long as the tench were hiding under the bridge, sheltering from the sun, maggot is all you seem to need for these at the moment, so a rig for that, a pellet rig for the far bank and another for pellet down the right hand margin
For company i had chris gay to my right, and for the second day on the trot i had paul faiers to my left, on the other side of the bridge, and i got to say this lockdown business hasnt been kind to him, harry muire commented that he was beginning to bear a striking resemblance to uncle albert, i will let the rest of you decided .
I got it a bit wrong today, definitely fed to aggressively, ending up with 51lb for 6 th on the day, the peg was without a doubt worth more than that, top on the day was john mills over on 22 with 92lb, so well done , its not easy beating des shipp into second spot. Top silver weight was taken by albert trotter to my left with quite a low weght of 17lb, the fisheries large head of tench decided not to show up today, but it was a bit bright, weigh sheets below as is the norm,
Next ones are Landsend on Sunday, shiplate on Monday and acorn again on Tuesday, back to work on Wednesday for a rest, LOL 😂😂.
