firstly i got to say woody,s cafe at the fishery is tops with quality food and a fast and efficient service providing woody stays out of the way and lets his daughter get on with it(lol),
we had 30 booked in today which was good , i dont know whether it was the fact it was pole only or it was only 20 quid instead of the 25 norm , time will tell.
into the draw and out comes peg 85 on cary, a good draw with plenty of room and clayton hudson managed 140lb off it at the weekend in the float only, when i got to my peg i found myself next to dan white on 86 so the pound bet was struck and i started to set up, dan was cutting meat up as this was going to be his main line of attack, i decided to stick with the pellets as meat didnt seem to go to well at the weekend, i set up various rigs to fish 8mm pellets at 14 mtrs in front and down the edge as well as shallow and a rig for 6mm over 4,s at 6mtrs for skimmers, to be fair i,ve had a right torrid with lots of lost foulers(16 i think)the pellet was getting them into the swim and they were obviously eating well but it was proving hard to present the bait in a way the fish felt happy to take it, i did manage 5 from the margin and 4 out in front plus some skimmers but i wasnt going to do any good with what i had in the net, even the pound with dan was in jeapordy, lucky i had laid the bet off with fabio who was on 102 and weighed 85lb, dan weighed 100.04 to my 99.8, so he had my pound. the match was won by craig edmunds on 128 with 183.13 all taken on the deck at 16mtrs on 8mm hard pellet
