Huntstrete short pleasure session

Went the 15 minutes up the road to the Dave crookes Huntstrete complex just to the south of Bristol, Judith fancied catching some quality fish so it was a no Brainerd really, bridge pool was going to be our destination, with peg 19 being a peg of choice. Luckily it was vacant, so we soon had ourselves set up for a bit of margin fishing, feeding 8mm pellet with a banded 11mm over the top.
Feeding left and right we started down the right hand side as it looked nice and sexy with a few reeds and overhanging foliage.
It started off a bit slow with a few bream coming our way, fish up to about 2lb, but it did get better with carp and tench moving in over the feed as the session went on, I let Judith have the lions share on the box as she was enjoying it.

The tench we had, 4 in all were up to 4lb or, so nice clean fish, as were the bream, all seemingly over the rigours of spawning, the carp looked past it as well.
In all we had the 4 tench, several big skimmers and ten carp, of which Judith had the biggest , with a 12lb mirror and a very nice 14lb common with a huge tail, which gave her a proper run around,

I can't believe there were so few people fishing here today, the few that were there were all catching so it's well worth a visit, pop into veals fishing tackle to get a permit and get out there and enjoy yourself.
